NOTICE TO RECREATIONAL BOATERS FROM THE PORT OF REDWOOD CITY
There are 2 upcoming dredging projects occurring simultaneously at the Port of Redwood City.
Port’s Maintenance Dredging – Wharves 1,2,3 & 4 Project
- Dredging operations are expected to begin November 10, 2015 and will be completed by November 30, 2015.
- Dredging will occur 24/7 until project completion.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Channel Maintenance dredging between the Port’s Wharf 4 to Westpoint Slough, Markers 14 to 20
- Dredging operations are expected to begin Mid-November 2015 and continue until March 2016.
- Dredging will occur 24/7 until project completion.

Boaters should watch out for the following equipment and vessels that will be involved in the projects:
- Dredge Barges and Dump Scows
- Survey and Crew Boats
- Anchor Bouys – white topped with lighting
Recreational Boaters should consider the following:
- Using VHF radio to alert dredge of recreational boaters intentions, channels 13, 14, 80
- Be visible and attach lights for dredge/tugs/survey boats to see recreational boaters during nighttime hours
- Avoiding anchor cables by keeping adequate distance from dredge. Do not go alongside dredge
- Avoid the middle of the channel used by contractor’s equipment and use outside edges of channel.
